Ants
I was hoping to post another chapter in my one-day saga at Macworld Expo in San Francisco, but have been battling ants all weekend. So I put our Christmas videocamera and the new iMovie software to use. The one-minute movie is available here.

Oh dear god! Keep them away from the G5 iMac. Apparently Stockton ants like the taste of Macintosh!
After battling ants in various areas of our apartment, I was concerned after finding a couple of strays feeler-ing around on the desk in front of the G5 iMac. Since I had no idea where they originated from, I placed a newly-purchased trap on the desk right in the path of one of them. I thought he would carry some of its payload back to the nest and kill off all his relatives. Instead, he invited them all over, resulting in the situation seen in the video.
I'm pretty certain they didn't get inside the machine since I saw some trying to crawl up the aluminum base and falling off after getting . Since I've seen them walk on the face of walls, I guess the finish on that base is too slippery for them.
Maybe Apple should add 'Ant-Proof' to the list of design advantages of the G5 iMac.
